This is foundational in studying scripture. Lessons 1 and 2 are an overview of Ch. 1 through 11. Gen. 12 begins the life of Abraham, who is mentioned 65 times in the NT. His faith and obedience to God were strong; yet, he battled with the problems and temptations common to all God’s people. He received God’s promise of a nation and a Savior. His son Isaac inherited those promises, as well as Jacob and his son Joseph. The lives of these 4 great Patriarchs illustrate basic problems that relate to our life today.
